The office’s mission is to engage in effective governmental outreach that supports TCU’s mission and vision and to develop strategic partnerships with local, state and federal government. Government Affairs aims to express the needs of the TCU community to various stakeholders responsible for shaping legislation and regulation affecting higher education.
In addition to building relationships with legislative offices and other governmental organizations, Government Affairs partners with the American Council on Education (ACE), National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU), Independent Colleges and Universities of Texas (ICUT), and others to advance the perception and agenda of TCU as a leader in innovative higher education. As frequently as possible, the office engages students in the advocacy process.
TCU’s Government Affairs efforts are coordinated by Lauren Nixon, Director of Programs and Executive Initiatives. If you need assistance contacting, visiting, or hosting a government official, or for more information, please email l.e.nixon@tcu.edu or call 817.257.7782.
